    Great show, Gentlemen.

I’m glad to know that you’re both as dorkie as me.  I, too, would love to have a Hobbit Hole in the back yard. Unfortunately I have a pseudo swamp instead.

Justin, great quote: “Where you do what you do matters.” I’m going to be keeping this in mind as I march forward. Seeming how I have no clients yet it hadn’t even OCCURRED to me to consider a work area. But I see it as so true. Right now I’m thinking one or two options initially. The bonus room or finishing out a corner in the basement. Both will require various amounts of work. But both will provide me space where I can get away b/c I just can’t seem to say “No” to either Skye or Alexander. We’ll see.

Kevin, I like what you said about teaching your kids about their strengths and personalities and how that’s “caught not taught”. With a son that will turn 2 on August 26th, I’ve been thinking about that a lot. I have a VERY commanding personality and either consciously or unconsciously I tend to force my will on others. Fortunately, Skye (wife) also has a strong personality and can point it out to me when I’m doing it to her. But I want to make sure I’m not bending Alexander to my will, I’m raising him in the way he’s bent.

    Great stuff. Enjoyed the show.

I’ve been called an “over involved dad” already and am proud of it. I want Alexander to know that I care about what he cares about and love him tremendously. It REALLY surprises a lot of my friends who have fathers that were there, but not necessarily involved in their lives as they grew up.

Thanks Ivan! Glad you enjoyed the show. Like a lot of life, it’s a balancing act, but I do always try to “err” on the side of being “over-involved” with my kids. Besides, if that’s a problem, they can pay for the therapy when they’re out on their own!
